Welcome to the website for the Committee to Elect Kathleen Crogan-Camara for State Senate.
My name is Kathleen Crogan-Camara and I'm running for State Senate. I've lived in Randolph for 14 years, I have 3 grown children. I ran a beauty salon for 20 years and became a nurse after my daughter was severely injured in a car accident. I've spent years now working within the state system to get services for my disabled daughter -- my experience is that the system is very difficult to navigate and difficult to get the right services for your loved one.
Currently I am on a "Listening Tour," where I knock on doors, introduce myself as a candidate for State Senate, and find out what voters want. So far, many feel they've been left out and unrepresented. So far, after knocking on 400 doors, this is what people are talking about:
- Elders worried about being priced out of their homes
- Freeze real estate taxes when you hit 65 years old
- Equity and diversity
- Crumbling roads, sidewalks, and bridges
- Safety in our neighborhoods
- High gas prices
- Veterans and homelessness
- Mental illness awareness
- Bullying and having to change schools
- Effects of children during pandemic (psychological and cognitive)
- Disabilities
- Poor nursing home care, poor care in hospitals, and lack of transparency in both situations
- Free community college
- Supports women's reproductive rights -- click for contrast to the incumbent
- Pro-choice: "No uterus; no opinion."
- Supports LGBTQ+ rights -- click for contrast to the incumbent
I want to do the heavy lift of streamlining the process so that all vulnerable individuals can have a good quality of life. I would love your vote.
Check back in the coming weeks and months when this website will present Kathleen's full issues platform in detail.
